I was stationed at Torrejon from Dec 67 to Dec 70. I was a Medic in the 401st Hospital. My last 2 years I mostly worked the Emergency Room, however, I did spend some time as an "Independent Medic" out with the Communications squadrons out on the Baleric Islands and up in the Pyrrenes Mountains.
Met my wife, Joyce, @ Torrejon. She was a dependent and had just graduated my the base High School in 1970. |

Wow this takes me back to the stone age, lol.
I was an A/2c. dont remember the squadron number but it was the motor pool. I was there before they built the base staying at the general Isamo building in Madrid. Not sure if I remember the dates but it was about July 1956 to sept 58. I was assinged to the motor pool as a driver. I really liked being assinged to Madrid and later got to live on the new base. One of my all time memories was driving the OD and a LT pilot to his 101 Voodo and watching the take off as the OD had said to him to get it on when he took off. Let me tell you that Voodo was impresive to say the least. I hope someone from the 50s errra replys to me. Heck maybe there all gone, Do you think? lol. Happy trails to all you fly boys and Gals, Darrell (DEE) Warner

Hey gang!
I was stationed at TJ from 1984 to 1988. I worked in P&S for the 612th AMU, and then 3 years in the DCM staff, doing TCTO's and working in Wing maintenance and flight scheduling. TJ was BY FAR the finest assignment in the whole of the AF- we miss EVERYONE we knew there very much! Googling maps of the area show how much it's changed. We hope to visit there again when we retire! |

I arrived at TJ in Nov 74 and went pcs in Apr 81. I was a Security Policeman on the Ramp and loved it! It was espceially interesting when Gen. Fanco was alive and observed the transition from dictator to monarchy. Spent many hours at the "Rib House." Any x sp's out there drop me a line.

I was at Torrejon (79-80) as a dependent and attended Torrejon High School. Lived in the Oaks (83A) and had the time of my life while there. I worked summer hire in 80 at Base Reprographics with SrA Angel Rivera, TSgt Roberson, MSgt Erwin and two spanish civilians - Paco and Martin. My father worked in 401 TFW Maintenance Analysis Shop with a SSgt Wagner and TSgt Stewart - I believe? Not sure is MSgt/SMSgt Biaggi or SMSgt/CMSgt Pritchard were the Maintenance Chiefs?

I was assigned to the 401st TFW Hospital from 1986 to 1989. I worked in the Aeromedical Evacuation office. Looking for anyone who worked in the hospital or who I scheduled for Aeromedical Evacuation for medical care to Germany or back to the states.
