We both were stationed in TJ from 1981-1984, I worked in the 613 AMU as an avionics technician and Margaret worked in 16 AF HQ Operations. I remember selling ham, egg and cheese sandwiches to everyone on dayshift in our break area and sometimes going over to the Spanish AF died for bocadillo sandwiches (make a list)....very much enjoyed having dinner at the Rib House. Some very fond memories of our tour of duty.

My father, Frank Cook ("Cookie") wasa Civil Service Engineer - he was in charge of all maintenance on the Torrejon Airbase. (1960 to 1967). We lived in Casablance, Morocco for two years prior. Many people worked for my Dad. I was 12 1/2 when we arrived - went to school on the base from 7th - 12th grade. Worked for two years in private industry in Spain - left in 1967. We did not live in base housing...CANILLEJAS is where we lived from day one. I love Spain, the people and the great attitudes about life.

If you recognize "The Cook Family (Frank - Cookie; Pat (my Mom); Mary Sue (My sister) or me (Patti)...send me an email at sipofwine@operamail.com.

Am also looking for Mike Zagorski, Jose Puente, Kathann Woodall (her Dad was a pilot).

THIS IS A GREAT SITE!

PS. Does everyone know that Torrejon Air Base is now Parque de Europa...it is beautiful and just opened this year!

I believe we met in 1967 spending the day at the Rastro with mutual friends (still have a picture). I loved Torrejon, Madrid and the Spanish culture. I worked on the F-100s in FMS. No doubt it was my best assignment. (1966-1967)

Hi Patti, I believe we met about 1967. My name is Garvin Williams and a group of us went to the Rastro (I have a slide of the group) and we possibly shared a movie on the base.

Cheers Garvin
