I was stationed at Torrejon AFB June 1962-June 1966, base civil engineering group. Joe Kwiatkowski, was also there. I was at Palomares for the Broken Arrow and at Zaragoza for the closing process.

Charles Casebeer, M.D. Sunday, 14 February 2010 14:42
I was the last medical officer at Zaragoza before the closing in late 1965. Sent PCS to Torrejon and then back to ZAB TDY. I was the medical officer for Camp Wilson also so we have probably met each other. Left TJ August 68 to return to civilian life. Now retired in Montana. Torrejon was THE BEST!!!

Jerry Mazza Saturday, 6 July 2013 20:54
I left Zaragoza to go to Palomares, then PCS to South Dakota in June 1966. When I was at Zaragoza the only officer I can remember was a Lt. short with blond hair. I think he was the only on the base. Spent 3.5 years at Torrejon, 1962-66. It is the best as is M.adrid.

Hi Mac and Everyone!

I was in TJ from May 1984 to Jan 1988. I was in Civil Engineering (FD) and loved living there.

Maria and I still live in DC and we are going to Spain this August.

I retired in 2004 and I'm a GS-15 at NGA working in northern VA.

We certainly miss TJ and Spain. Hope all is well with everyone.
