Hello everybody! I was at TJ from July 1984 to July 1987 and work in the receiving section of the Supply Squadron. Hoping that somebody remembers me (hard to forget!). Please drop me a line if you do. Also, I was assigned to the flightline when I arrived and then cross trained into Supply in 1985. I met a guy that was an F-16 crew chief at the branch I worked at and we became good friends, he was even at my wedding in 1986. His name is Danny McClain (spelling I'm not entirely sure of). Last I heard from him was when he was leaving TJ and going to New Mexico or Arizona. Any help on this? Thanks all! TJ was the best!

I was at Torrejon from May 68 to May 71. I was an aircraft mechanic in the 625th MASS, the small MAC squadron on base. Would love to hear from anyone from the 625th.

Arrived Christmas 70 through May 74, FSP. Would be nice if we could get our own web site just for the 625th. Might be fun!

Hi, Dave,

I arrived at TOJ on 4/4/68 and left in February 1970. You and I played on the 625 MASS softball team together. I was a Lt. in the transportation section. I remember Sgt. Clyde Keller and and Sgt. Juno (Juneau?) from Maintenance. Also Lt. Jim Mayer, Sgt. Shinpaugh, Col. Patton, etc. I'm in Tallahassee, Fl now. Would like to hear from you.

Sorry for the very late response. I haven't been on the site in awhile. Great memories of my time in the 625th and I remember all the guys you mentioned. I was on Sgt Keller's flight and was friends with Juneau. Unfortunately, Claude Keller passed as did Roland Juneau's wife Sylvia. We had a mutual friend who was in Mainteneance Control, Charlie Thomas. My email is and I'm in Colorado now. Hope to hear from you.

TOPS! Torrejon, the Opportunity Plus Station. 1968-1970 401 MMS

You're the first person that I've heard mention that slogan. I was at TJ from Jan 69 to Jun 71 in Admin in 307th. I remember that they changed the slogan when we failed the base inspection and they fired the base commander and brought in a new hard-as commander. Thanks for reminding me.

Assigned to the 2186th Communications Squadron during my tour from 1982-1986. Hoping to locate a former co-worker by the name of Daniel Taylor. I believe brother Tay is a CMSgt the last I heard. Any/all info would be much appreciated. NICE SITE.

I was station at TJ from 3/86- 3/90. I was assigned to the 401 Supply Squadron/RACC. This was one of the best assignments I had. I was single at the time and had to eventually leave in order to live longer.

Kerry Williams Tuesday, 29 November 2011 06:16
I think I knew you back then...did you live in the barracks?

Dexter Bostic Tuesday, 27 December 2011 18:24
Mike, how have you been. I worked at the 612TH AND 613TH AMU. I remember you at the RACC. You were the man. You helped us a lot with the red-ball stat deliveries. I was at TJ from 86-90 and loved it. I haven't met anyone who didn't. I live in Atlanta GA. take care.

P.C. Frommel here. I was 353rd from 66 till 69. I also crewed f-100f 56-3952 Capt Jack Cosyn was assigned to my plane. He claimed it was his plane, but I say it was mine. I was in the red lion most nights. Loved throwing darts.

Jeff D. Maske, 353rd 67-70, crewed D models 825 & 176.
Hung out with P. Chester Frommel many moons. He went blind for a while once on Anise. We went to the coast in his old 56 black pontiac, hit a concrete bench and caused the headlight to be aimed three stories up on buildings. Crazy fun.

I was in TJ from early '84 to May of '85. It was a great place for a 19 year old kid, especially in the Fire Department. If anyone was in the FD, either shift, drop me a line.
